Monster Hunter Outlanders Controller Support, Controls & Settings Guide
Updated . Controller support is on, and it covers hunts, the quest system, and world exploration at launch. The official pages do not name a run button, a Part Lock-On toggle, or a menu path for graphics on Android.
Controller support
The official site footer says Controller Support: Yes. The 29 October 2026 TiMi launch release says controllers support the major actions used during hunts, and that at launch this covers hunts, the quest system, and world exploration. It calls that Season 0 support initial, and says more of the game and the controller experience will be refined later.
A setup step for a controller the game does not recognize is not officially announced. The launch release and the official FAQ do not name supported controller models or a pairing menu.
Control layout
The official launch FAQ says you choose Adventure Mode or Classic Mode in the control settings. Adventure Mode uses three buttons: Attack, Evade, and Burst. Classic Mode, in that FAQ’s words, “fully preserves the traditional control scheme of the Monster Hunter series.”
Which controller button runs, and whether a controller uses that traditional scheme, are not officially announced. The FAQ does not list controller buttons.
Graphics, frame rate, and battery
Garena’s Hunting FAQ says raising frame rate and graphics quality can make the phone hotter and use more battery, and it recommends lowering the related settings. It does not name the menu those settings are in.
The global official launch FAQ does not repeat that battery answer. A way to hide icons, and a Part Lock-On toggle, are not officially announced on either FAQ.
Device requirements
The official launch FAQ prints two lists. Recommended: iOS 17 or above, iPhone 13 Pro or above, 6GB RAM or above; Android 12 or above, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or MediaTek Dimensity 9200 or above, 8GB RAM or above. Minimum: iOS 15 or above, iPhone 8 Plus or above, 3GB RAM or above; Android 9 or above, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or MediaTek Dimensity 920 or above, 4GB RAM or above. Garena’s Hunting FAQ prints the same two lists.
The official site footer is shorter: iOS 17 or later / Android 12 or later, and smartphones and tablets with 6.0 GB of RAM or more. The Google Play listing checked on 31 October 2026 does not print those chip or RAM lines.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Dimensity 1200 are not named in those lists, and neither FAQ explains an “incompatible” message. Whether later updates will lower the requirement is not officially announced.
